NEW YORK - The 4000 mostly minority tenants of the Diego Beekman Houses in New York’s South Bronx are receiving some good news today. That news is taking the form of a new, low interest, 30-year mortgage for $19 million dollars. Earthquake Forces MLK Gala To Relocate

A gala dinner that kicks off dedication events for the memorial honoring the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. is being moved to a different building after an East Coast earthquake damaged the original banquet site in Washington.
